Desford Community Action Group

The group was set up following the Desford Parish Appraisal in 2001. We are a group of residents who want to make Desford a better place to live. In the past, we have planted bulbs, organised litter picks and footpath walks. We organise quizzes twice a year and use the money to give small grants to community groups in the village. Since 2007 we have also organised Open Gardens. The profit from these events has been used to fund the Village Sign, to give the Pickard jitty a makeover, to erect bird boxes, to provide Christmas lights for the village tree, shops and the library and to support Desford in Bloom.
